Caries Treatment

The treatment of simple cariesimplies the cleaning of the carious cavity and the filling with a special material. Anesthesia is needed or not, it depends of the deepness of the cavity.

Beside the classical treatment with drills, we are also using a modern painless technique; it consists in applying a special gel, Carisolv gel (Sweden), that dissolves the carious dentine and this can be removed with specially designed instruments. The method is very much used for children treatment and in some situations, for adults treatment, sometimes a combined treatment can be necessary (gel+drill). We are through the few Romanian dentistry centres using this method, and we directly collaborate with research centres from Sweden (Malmø, Gøteborg) and Norway (Bergen).

The treatment of complicated caries implies the tooth nerve removal followed by root canal treatment and filling.
